Sarah Walker

Inspired by her father’s neon tetras, Sarah Walker has transitioned from a childhood fascination with fish into a dedicated leader in the aquarium hobby. While she serves as a Forensic Accounting Manager and holds a business degree from Tennessee Technological University by day, she spends her “after hours” as a citizen scientist and conservationist. Based on a small hobby farm in Whitleyville, Tennessee, Sarah maintains an extensive collection of approximately 75 tanks, focusing primarily on the beauty and complexity of killifish and Uruguay catfish.

Sarah’s commitment to the community is evidenced by her seven-year tenure on the Board of Trustees for the American Killifish Association and her role as a co-founder of the Music City Aquarium Society. A frequent guest speaker and member of several prestigious organizations like the IBC and ALA, she aims to share the wonders of unique species with others. Most notably, Sarah recently collaborated with Uruguay Fish Tours on a landmark expedition to collect annual killifish, marking one of the first legal exports of these fish in over two decades—a significant milestone in her mission to foster sustainable practices and species revival.
